Significance of Nightingale in ‘Ode to a Nightingale’.

The current study takes up the role and significance of Nightingale in ‘Ode to a Nightingale’. It has been worked out how Keats uses it as a tool for the expression of his various moods of feelings. The symbolic and figurative shades of meanings of the bird have been probed and it has been compared and contrasted with the use of birds by other poets and writers in their works. It has also been shown how Keats gives a vent to his feelings and emotions through the Nightingale as a symbolic object.
